About Us

The parent organization of the chapter, the International Right of Way Association was founded in Los Angeles in 1934, and incorporated in 1946. The association now encompasses both the United States and Canada and contains 75 chapters of which Old Dominion Chapter 52 is one. Our members from around our great Commonwealth play a vital role in community, regional, and national improvements, highways, flood control projects, public utility construction, pipelines, railroads, and other public development activities. Technical skills in appraisal, relocation, engineering, law, negotiation, public relations, property management, and public service administration are needed for proficiency in this complex field. Consequently the Chapter has the goal of providing many opportunities for the training and education of its members.
