The International Directors shall act as liaison between the International and Chapter structures of the Association, working in close cooperation with the Regional Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. They shall inform the Chapter Executive Board of all actions and activities occuring at meetings of the International Board of Directors and of such other matters as may come to their attention.
We have two (2) International Directors and they are typically the President and 1st Vice President of the Chapter
These directors attend Spring and Fall ForumsĀ
Provide status updates on the Chapter for the Region
They are also voting directors at the Annual International Education Conference
*They vote on issues such as International and Regional Officers, international bylaws and changes and many more items
*Robert's Rules govern meetings and the President's vote counts the same as all other members of the board. Motions pass by the majority of board members.
The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Chapter and ex-officio member of all committees, except Nominating, and shall be subject to the control of the Executive Board, have general supervision, direction, and control of the business and officers of the Chapter. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Chapter and of the Executive Board, and shall have the general powers and duties usually vested in the office of the President and as may be prescribed by the Association, the Bylaws of this Chapter, and the powers or duties granted by the Chapter Executive Board.
Duties of the President include:
Leading Chapter executive board and general membership meetings
Drafting and circulating meeting agendas
Securing Sponsors for the meetings
Uploading agenda and minutes to the International Association after each meeting
Ensuring committees are running smoothly
Attending and providing updates at Spring and Fall Forums
Attending and Voting at the Annual International Education Conference
Appointing Chairs for Committees and more
The First Vice President shall have the general powers and duties of a Vice President, shall act as President in the case of absence or disability of the President, shall advise and assist the President when called on to do so, and shall perform such other duties as may be required by the Executive Board, including responsibility for special or administrative committees as designated by the President. In case the office of President becomes vacant, the First Vice President shall become President.
Responsible for attending the Annual Education Conference as International Director
Securing venue and food & beverage for all chapter meetings
Working with the President and Treasure on budget for meetings
Other Duties, as needed
The Second Vice President shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the First Vice President in the absence or disability of the incumbent, and such other duties as may be required by the Executive Board, including responsibility for the resolution committees as required by the International Board of Directors and responsibilities of the Program Chairperson.
Responsible for securing spearks for the general membership meetings
*In recent years, Tim Copeland has assisted with securing speakers
The Secretary shall keep a book of minutes of all meetings of the Chapter and the Executive Board, shall carry on all correspondence of the Chapter, and shall perform such other duties as may be required by the Executive Board.
Will take minutes at all meetings and distribute to the executive board after the meeting
Prepares all communications during the nominations & elections process
Keeps records of all nominations & elections
The Assistant Secretary shall perform all duties of the Secretary in the absence or disability of the Secretary or when called on to do so by the Secretary. The Assistant Secretary shall be responsible for maintaining the Chapter's library, including files, books, publications, magazines, scrapbooks, etc., and for recording in narrative form, supplemented by photographs, news articles, etc., the history of the Chapter for the term to which elected commencing with the installation of officers at the beginning of the year. The outgoing Assistant Secretary shall turn over said history to the incoming Assistant Secretary within three months after leaving office.
Will fill in for the secretary if they are unable to attend a meeting
The Treasurer shall receive all the funds of the Chapter and keep a proper record thereof; shall deposit them in a convenient, responsible bank; and shall disburse them only upon direct receipt of proper authority from the Chapter Executive Board. The Treasurer shall perform such other duties as are assigned by the Chapter's Executive Board.
Uplaods all financial information to International Association
The Assistant Treasurer shall perform all the duties of the Treasurer in the absence or disability of the Treasurer, or when called upon to do so by the Treasurer. The Assistant Treasurer shall be empowered to sign checks and orders for payment only upon the specific authority and approval of the Executive Board.
